Advantages of Ozone

  • Ozone is one of the most powerful commercially available oxidizing agents for the treatment of aqueous solutions and gaseous mixtures. The oxidation potential of ozone at 25°C is 2.07 V. It is higher than chlorine, which has oxidation potential of 1.36 V.
  • Ozone can eliminate a wide variety of inorganic, organic and microbiological problems. The microbiological agents include bacteria, viruses, and protozoans (such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium).
  • Ozone has greater disinfection effectiveness against bacteria, viruses and protozoans compared to chlorination.
  • Ozone can replace and significantly reduce levels of hazardous chemicals such as chlorine.
  • Color, odor and taste problems are quickly removed by ozonation with no sludge formation and no significant effect to pH and TDS.
  • The treatment process does not add chemicals to the water. Therefore, ozonation is environmentally friendly technology.
  • After ozone oxidizes or disinfects, it decomposes into oxygen, there is no any toxic residue found on by-product.
